Depression increases with being overweight
An interesting article in the press this week has highlighted a direct link between being overweight and increased depression. Exeter university studied 145000 people showing that every 4.6 points on the BMI scale increases the odds of depression by 50%. Amazingly this means a women who is 5ft 7in tall weighing 10stone with a BMI of 21.9 would be 50% more likely of suffering from depression if she were to put on 2 stone giving a BMI of 26.5.
Perhaps you yourself have experienced this directly, if your weight is getting you down and directly affecting your mental state news the time to take control over it and make some small changes to create a long term lifetime change.
